Hi, more troubles with the 5245 at the pony club. I fixed fuel leaks in the flexible hose from the primer/bowl housing to the fuel pump(housing mounted low down on the block below and in front of the primer) and in the flexible hose from the fuel pump(?) up to the fuel line manifold that the lines to the injectors come out of. But it is still leaking somewhere around the primer housing. Could I get some advice about what to do with this. Is it possible to remove this housing easily so I can take it to be overhauled, or should we get a mobile mechanic to look at it?
It's easy enough to take the complete lift pump off the injection pump. The problem with that, is the mechanic will not be able to see where the leak is coming from. Leaks can usually be cured with some new copper washers. You should be able to find it with some patience.
Hi Mike, we found the leak. I used an spare old fuel line from the lift pump to the filters and it turned out to have a crack on the inner wall that caused the leak
