Gear problem on 6045

Hi all, I finally finished all my repairs and maintenance on my Zetor 6045 (fixed the indicators and tail lights wiring, cleaned the oil filter and did a oil change for the engine and injector pump) and took it for a drive. All was going well and I stopped and went to put the tractor in reverse (which the gear selector did) and let out the clutch and nothing happened. I tried putting it into first and let the clutch go nothing. This happened for every gear bar either fourth or five - which did work after changing between hi-lo gear selector. I have tired changing the PTO gear lever and the hi-lo gear lever to get R, 1, 2, 3 etc to work after releasing the clutch but ithe tractor won't move in these gears. The Gear selector for R, 1, 2, 3 , 4 will go into gear but I am not getting any motion when releasing the clutch. Please advise me on what to do?

is it properly in gear, is there any resistance on the hi/lo lever ? the C pin sometimes breaks and it feels like its going in gear when the broken half of the pin is in front of the hole. but it doesnt shift.

Hi Renze, what's a C pin? When I let the clutch out the tractor sounds like something isn't in gear properly (resistance to the tractor moving). How do I fix this gear problem?

Rollpin is the proper English. it holds the lever on the shaft on which the hi/lo range lever slides.

Just to be clear...... it is not stalling the engine when you let out the clutch? ..... as getting stuck in 2 gears at once is a common problem on Zetor's.

Hi Renze and Steve, thanks for you replies. I sorted out the problem two days ago but have been a bit remiss in updating this topic. It was stuck in the reverse gear. I unscrewed the four bolts that hold the gear stick in place and gave the gear stick base a couple of light taps with a hammer and a slight wiggle to break the seal then pulled it out of the way. This gave me access to the three U shaped cogs that control the gears and the first cog was stuck upwards out of alignment (in reverse gear). So I gently used a long flat head screwdriver to lever it back into alignment (to the middle) with the two other cogs. I then put the gear stick lever back on after applying a bit of gasket maker first (as the original gasket wasn't looking too flash in places). Now my Zetor's gears are all working perfectly again.

Yes, it's a common problem.
Caused by Wear in the selector rod detent groove, i fixed mine by fitting a slightly stronger detent spring in the affected selector rod and have had no problem since. (5 minute job)
avoid sudden application of the breaks when running down a steep hill, as this can dislodge a selector rod if the detent is weak.

My 6745 first gave trouble when being transported on the back of a truck (the day i took delivery lol), so i had to fix it in order to get it off the truck as it was jammed in 1st and i needed to reverse off!
