The governor assembly on my 3545 tractor has 2 springs on each governor weight (so there are 4 springs in total.......two small ones and 2 larger ones). The smaller ones are located inside the larger ones.Does anyone know what is the correct procedure for setting the spring tension is as there is a slotted adjusting nut on the top.Thankyou.

I have no idea. normally this is a job for a specialised diesel repair shop. did you remove them all so everything is off, or do you have a base to readjust to ?

Yes i stripped the governor assembly right down as i needed to repair or replace some of the worn parts. However i made some notes so i can at least reassemble it back to how it was originally ;).I was just wondering that as the spring tension can be adjusted there must be a correct procedure to set it up.
