Has anyone repaired a frost damaged engine block on a Zetor 3045

I have a frost damaged engine block on a Zetor 3045.
Has anyone successfully repaired a damaged block?
The block is split right at the top of the block just below the cylinder head.
I understand damaged blocks can be stitched ( a new piece put in the place of the hole).
Any advice or contacts names of suitable repairers would be greatly appreciated.
I am based in the UK (midlands area)

You can solder it with bronze.

Or some hardware stores sell cylinder block repair stuff. It is usually on the same shelf as Wynn's super friction proofing, Slick50, the stuck piston ring solution and radiator cleaner.

If it is small hole Or small crack, get some body filler (Or better is "JB WELD") and use that on the outside. Then, get some "engine block repair" stuff (They sell it in the petrol station) and pour it in the radiator. that will seal the inside

The method I would use would be: drill a small hole at each end of the crack to stop it going any further. Then grind a small slot along the crack, clean the area very well, make sure it is totally dry and then use belzona or a similar liquid metal to plaster over the whole area. Make sure it is perfectly dry before you put any water in. Mike

i have repaired blocks on a few tractors. as you were told drill a hole either side to stop to crack spreading and grind the crack out. what we tend to do is either mig weld it or braze them up. i have mig welded quit a few and the people i have welded them for are very happy did you buy this tractor from ebay???

Thanks for the advice.
This crack is unfortunately three cracks coming together over the area of about a tennis ball. (like a big blister). I have not had chance to look at it properly yet - but I feel the three segments may break away altogether from the main block.
It may push back together (chances are the cast will just crack if I knock it back) - if it pushes back there may be the possibility of drilling a hole at the ends of the three cracks - grind them out and weld them as suggested... I need to take a closer look.
This forum question was to see if it would be an option to weld such a big split succesfully. thanks again....

i welded a cylinder head on a ferguson te20 z120 engine and the cracks were coming from three directions i reoved the piece got a piece of steel to suit the hole mig welded it in. been going for three year no probs. if you do this i advise you to get your head skimmed
