I have a Zetor 5211 that was operating perfect until I was using it to do some bushhogging and hung the bushhog on a cut off tree stump. The stump was stalling the tractor and I could not get the bushhog out of gear because it was in a bind. I cut the power to the tractor to get it to stop. I took the bushhog out of gear and then I started the tractor and I lifted the bushhog up off the stump. I am now having trouble with the clutch. When I let out on the clutch the tractor will not move for a few seconds and then it will start moving but if you start up a hill it will stop. The clutch seems to be slipping but I was wanting to get advice from some of the experts on this forum. I would also like to know what would be a fair price to have a new clutch installed.
I would like to know what could have happened to the clutch on my tractor from the details of what happened on my post. I would like to have input from anyone , webmaster or anyone that knows the inter working of the clutch. Any help would be welcomed.
There's no external adjustment on a 5211. The release lever height is adjustable but this adjustment shouldn't have moved and will not affect clutch slippage. I can't think why nearly stalling the engine with the PTO should make the clutch start to slip as there are 2 separate clutch plates. All I can think is that the clutch must have been on the point of failing anyway.
Replacement cost will depend on how many parts are fitted at the time but you could be looking at 500 for a good job (without flywheel skimming/replacement/refurbishment). Thats for parts and labour.
Thanks for the answer Mike . The tractor does not have many hours on it. The tractor does not have a loader on it and bushhoging is what the tractor has been used for mostly for since buying the tractor new. I was wondering if the 5211 might have a problem with the orignal clutch plates and what would be the best clutch plates to put in it.

The original drive plate will probably be an ordinary organic type plate. It should be perfectly okay to replace it with another the same. The ceramic paddle plates are usually used for tractors with loaders and 4wd models. The ceramic linings are much harder and would last longer but tend to wear the flywheel and pressure plate more due to their hardness. The pto plates are all organic.
