Hi
1989 6245
a month or 2 ago I lost one of my rear brakes
the other is very week

yesterday the clutch went

I assume these are master or slave cylinder problems

questions

how does one get at the master cylinders?
do you remove the pedal mechanisms?

where are the clutch and brake slave cylinders?
are they easy to get at?

need to fix at least clutch fast as I use tractor for Snow Removal

thanks!

Hi,

It definately sounds like you've lost your fluid. Master cyls are accessible through a panel bolted onto the front of the cab. If you've no cab I believe there is a panel on the front of the dash.
Clutch slave cyl is on L/H side (outside) of the clutch housing. The brake slaves are behind the plastic covers on the rear of the back axle if you have disc brakes. They are inside the axle if you've got drum brakes.

had the same problems with 2003 6341. if the clutch system is not leaking, you can clamp off the rubber brake lines so you can use the tractor. over time i had to replace both clutch cylinders and the brake cylinders on the differentials. make sure you get the new brand of replacement parts (frankov or something like that spelling).

I replaced the clutch master cyl and have a working tractor again.

when I get time I'll do the slave cyl and the cyls

I took picture and will post a link to them soon

thanks
for your help
