Hi all the pto in my 6011 will just randomly stop, i thought the clutch for the pto had gone, so i split the tractor and yes it was worn away completely. so i put in a brand new clutch thinking this was the problem only to realise that after a half hour of work the pto stops working again, talk about being dissapointed. if i disengage the pto the engage it it will work each time for about 5 mins then stop. Please help any info greatly appreciated
It sounds like it is jumping out of gear. It could be a few different things causing it. Does the engagement lever feel like it is locating properly when you select the pto run position ? The weld could be breaking on the inside of the engagement lever so it isn't going into gear far enough. The circlip could be pushed off at the rear on the pto shaft behind the seal retainer letting the shaft move out of position.
i recently bought a 6245 that does the same thing also it is hard to engage the pto like a clutch isnt disengaging it you have to almost let the tractor die to engage it then in a few minutes it will come out of gear(pto) any suggestions would be appreciated
Hi all, just check your PTO shaft on the implement you are using isn't too long (i.e. closing all the way up) and pushing the pto into the axle housing, as I have had this happen to me. It was only a fraction too long, but was enough to knock it out of gear on tight corners (mower conditioner).
