The DEFA block heater is broken on my 6245 and has to be replaced by a new one, but how can I remove the old one?

The block heater is mountet on the left side of the engine. On the right side of the engine it is a plate, is it possible to se the block heaters backside if I open this plate?

They are normally hammered into the block instead of a frost plug. Drill a 5mm hole, stick a screwdriver in it and pry till it pops out.

Hammer the new one in with a socket that is just slightly smaller than the hole you put it into, after checking that the wrench square doesnt crush the connectors on the outside of the heater.

no i think the defa heater has a screw in the middle wich expands it in the hole to a conical shape as you tighten it.
