just to let anyone hesitating and worried about changing the lift cylinder seal...do not be.
i am no mechanic but i had to do it as my post knocker weighs 700kg and it was doing the dropping a couple of inches and returning.
just undo all the bolts and remove the seat. then remove all the other retaining bolts. undo and remove the metal hydraulic pipe from the top cover.undo one bolt each and remove the big link arms.
slide out the big pin from between the link arms. good to go but have a check.
lift the hydraulic cover straight up it's v heavy..do not slide!! turn over.
remove rod by tapping out pin. if you can not get the piston out blow it out with compressed air. gently. remove metal piston ring by spreading or brute force. remove old seals.
here is the clever bit, put the bottom seal on and get a jubille clip and tighten it around the seal. this will enable the seal to slide in easily. as you knock the piston in the seal goes in and the jubilee clip slides backwards. repeat for the second new seal and the metal piston ring. don't forget to change the two small o'rings at the same time.
when putting back on it is worth putting in some 6" locating bolts
or thread.
i do hope this helps as i was petrified but skint. so had to do it myself.

just as an add on i used roy perfect (penrith) for parts and he talked me through any problems. including putting the new seals in boiling water so they would fit on the piston.
