I am have trouble with my 3 point hitch and my hydraulics I changed the fluid cause it had water in it But I think they had gear oil in it Is that possible I but regular hydraulic fluid back in I changed the filter and cleaned the magnetic screen It had some metal shavings and even a few metal chunks in it Went and plowed for about 6 hours then hooked my disk up after about 2 hours the hydraulics stopped lifting the disk Then the next day I hooked the plow back up and the 3 point hitch it lifts but not all the way Do you think I should put gear oil back in it?

You need either gear oil 80w/90 or 10w/30 or 15w/30 STOU universal oil in the rear end. hydraulic fluid doesnt lubricate the gears, and gear oil cant handle hydraulic heat in hot summer weather. I allways use STOU.

Most likely your suction tube is picking up air through the braided hose connectors between the pipes.

Thanks for the info And the speedy reply I'll change the fluid to gear oil and see what happens I'll let you know
