Hydraulicpump?

can anyone describe to me WHERE the hydraulicpump is located on 7245.

older zetors had the pump located inside the back of the gearbox you had to drain the oil out and remove a round plate at the bottom of the gear box and the pump was attached to it.but your one is on the side of the engine below the alternator.

On a round plate on the bottom of the differential housing above the drawbar/pickup hitch

7245 Hydraulic pump in diff housing!! or some later models were modified in the UK with a front mounted crank driven pump under air filter/power steering tank

interesting i had a 7245 with the engine mounted pump,wasnt aware that it was a uk conversion.

My 5511 parts manual shows it as well.

My 5211 through 7245 and 7745 Operators manual (Jawa USA 1986) with great pictures, shows the pump under the rear transmission housing as does the 5211 - 7245 Zetor 1984 workshop manual, and with the magnetic filter in the round pump mounting plate underneath..

I haven't seen a 6245 with the front mounted pump..yet.
I take it there must be some advantages with a forward mounted pump, for access at least.

The 7245 we had used to run out of hydraulic power when it was facing down a steep hill due to the oil running foreward and starving the system. This was before zetor had their own front pump. Morris Corefield made a kit to fit a pump to the front of the crankshaft which cured the problem. It totally replaced the origional pump and plate, using a plate similar to the 6945 and taking the oil from the transfer box drain and returning it to the plug in the centre of the plate. We also tapped a pair of spool valves and a relief valve ( set slightly higher than the internal one) into the delivery pipe to work front linkage and also a trailer brake valve.

yup or connect a hydraulic pipe up to back of tractor pump oil in to a barrel then reverse up a set of ramps

Joking aside, on our steeper land it was possible to get into an impossible situation where you could'nt lift a plough at the bottom of a steep bank. On one occasion I had to walk back to the farm buildings to get an extra 5 gallon of oil . With that much extra oil onboard you run the risk of getting oil on the clutch or the brakes.

who is joking?myself and renza posted the best way to change the internal pump on a zetor with out having to drain all the oil out.as for the lift not working on steep banks you dont want to over fill the backend as there is only splash seals between the back end oil and the brakes.you can get a mod done where an external pipe feeds oil to the pump when on steep banks.
