Hi Fellas,
Bought my first zetor tractor some months ago and all was going well apart from a few minor problems, but recently i have noticed a small oil leak that seems to be dripping from the oil filter underneath the floor, on the left hand side as you sit on the tractor. Is this the engine oil filter. What other filters are on the 8011. May be my imagination but the power steering does not seem to be as good as when i first got he tractor. I am wondering if any of you fellas have ever come across this problem or how serious it is. any comments welcome as i know nothing about zetors i am slow to go messing around with it until i get some advice.

For your oil leak, the filters on the left under the cab are for transmission/hyd oil. the very big one low down is the coarse one and the smaller one filters the return oil from the TA.
Large circular item or the right side back end of the engine is a centrifugal engine oil filter.
Thoroughly clean the area and try to see where its coming from, usually the seal around the filter body, but if the oil is coming from further up then its possible a pipe has worked loose or fractured or I have known on 2 occasions the TA oil pressure switch to leak, Access to both these items through the large floor panel. you may have to remove the gearsticks to take the panel out.
The only user serviceable part for the PS is to check the oil in the small reservoir on the right of the engine, correct is about 1/2 full
Also clean the filter situated just in front of the tank if its an old tractor or replace the cartridge if its a newer model.

Again thanks a million Dave i had a sneaking suspicion it was the hydraulic oil. If or can i remove the smaller filter i.e the one without the casing closer of the two to the back of the tractor to check the seal as this is where the leak is coming from or will there be oil everywhere. As a matter of interest does the tap beside the glass jar cut of the diesel as i want to replace some of the brass washers on the long pipes to the right of the injector pumps as there is also a minor diesel leak on some of the connections. Are air locks hard to get out of the 8011

Small filter will remove without much mess. If the big filter is the type that goes in horizontally then its best to park on a slope away from the filter, if its the one that sits vertically in its housing it can be removed without leaks.
If fuel tap is off then anything can be done without risk of leaks, however there is a non-return in the leak off (return) pipe that may not be very good, if your tractor has a seperate return rather than just back to the filter then you may have to pinch off the rubber part to stop leaks.
The Crystal is probably one of the easiest tractors to bleed around.Scroll back through the posts for this.

Hi Dave,
Just wondering would the adjustment i made to the free play on the clutch to help with gear changing having any side effect leading to the oil leak occuring

Unlikely, but you have to find out exactly where the oil is coming from, is it running down the side of the gearbox ? you must clean it well and check it out properly, how much are you talking about.. A litre a day or just a few drips appearing at the end of a working day?

Hi Dave I cleaned the area thoroughly and it is a small leak coming from the seal on the filter that is the closer to the back of the tractor will a new filter stop it do these filters just screw on and off i cant see any nut that has to be loosened to remove the filter? i am guessing that low hydraulic oil (i am not using the tractor these days til i get this sorted)is the reason there is a grinding noise coming from the hydraulics (i think). Engine oil levels are perfect. Also i am wondering will replacing some of the copper seals on the connections underneath the injector pump take care of the diesel leak that is here.

More oil and Diesel leaks have appeared really getting tired of this tractor now.

is it possible to change most of the diesel pipes for rubber pipes to stop the diesel leaks.

I see no point in changing your pipes for flexy.Usually new copper washers under banjo's cure most problems, provided of course that pipes have not any cracks, if they do, either replace or braze them up. Careful use of thread tape can also help .
This isn't usually a problem with crystals.
Provided of course you are talking about the low pressure side . leaky Injector pipes almost always have to be replaced. When you get the spare injector pipes now , they come straight and you have to bend them to shape, it's a bit of a problem, but it does mean you have to only keep 1 spare.

i was hoping i could replace them as a permanent fix to the problem rather than replacing or brazing (whatever that is) the existing type of injector pipes. I dont have a lot of spare time to be fixing leaks so i was looking for a more permanent solution to all the Oil and Diesel leaks.in the last month there also apeared an oil leak on the underside of the box for the powersteering which i fixed but now there is another leak clean oil coming from underneath the tractor i think where the pump is it looks like it is akward to get in at to fix and the diesel leak is constantly there despite my attempts to fix it (needs pipes no doubt). to cut a long story short i was going to give the tractor to a mechanic and get all the leaks fixed and the injector pipes changed to flexi and i was just wondering if this is possible or worth my while.
