Zetor Crystal 12045 TUX700S
I thought I had posted an introduction before but it appears not, hey ho!
New to the Holford Farm Group in August 1977 and worked on their farms around Cannock Chase, Stafordshire, England.
Mainly ploughing/discs/seeding as part of their "Grain Division" in the late '70s.
It spent 3 or 4 years there with another 12045 (TUX6??S), an 8045 (BUJ91T), an 8011 and a 6945 (?UX562?).
They were traded/part-exchanged back to Morris Corfield & Co of Broseley when the time came. There the trail runs cold for a few years...
As far as I can determine, in approx 2015 it was bought from near Lincoln and moved up to Cumbria, it then moved north to Caithness, Scotland in 2018.
A distinctive feature is that it has been painted in an owner's choice of colours at some point: a green painted drivetrain with a silver painted cab and conventional orange Mudguards/Bonnet/Nose tinwork (although there is some silver on the mudguards as well).
The mudguards have also been framed in angle iron and they have lost their tail sections.
The green and silver is mostly off of it again now (successive pressure washes/steam cleans), but it may jog someone's memory.
It gets occasional use around the place, I love the old beast.
It's in line for a freshen-up with a set of new wide-wings, a beige belly and an engine overhaul.
If anyone recognises it/knows any more of it's history, feel free to message me!
Alec.
