Just below the oilfilling cap on the engine there is a slotted screw

What is this for? Looks like a plug

it is a blind plug to cap off the oil channel towards the crankshaft main bearing, from the oil channel in the block (it is in some kind of ridge, and to the right of it it goes to the pipe that feeds the oil filter)
