ok heres one for ya I didnt see in the posts what type of oil for the transmision and the hydrolics I have a leaky zetor and will not fix the leaks till the spring.being I is about ready to get snow here, well we can afford to leak a bit.
Also would like to know what to put in the engine , is "Quaker state" 15w-40 ok to put in the engine? a list of the canadian fluids would be nice, I saw a post saying hypoid 80 for the transmission , but there must be some brand name?

Smelly

10w/30 is multipurpose oil, to be used in transmission, engine and hydraulics.
80w/90 is gear oil, the viscosity is allmost the same, but the oil engineers took a big step in numbering, so that hypoid oil wouldn't be confused with motor oil.

Anyways with this STOU (Standard Tractor Oil Universal) they followed the engine oil numbering.

I dont know the temperature abilities of these oils, in Canada it can get pretty frosty (to -25 i believe) so you might want to check if standard oil is good enough....

Your lubricant salesman should know...

ok thanks guys for the engine I have 15w40 for diesel
and from a dealer in zetor parts that I contacted, he said TDH farm tractor oil.

yes it does get quite cold here I will have to plug the engine block heater to help it get going, no big deal we are used to that sort of thing. But when it snows the weather is less cold
:)
