today when i was going to use the pto i stumbled into an bit of trouble. i stopped the tractor in gear with clutch pedal pushed in. Pulled the hand pto clutch put it in gear and started to release the hand clutch. suddenly the tractor started to jump forward and a grinding gear noise was coming from gearbox, i had to take it out of the main gear and release foot clutch to shut it up. if i engage Pto when gearbox is in neutral everything is normal. what could be the cause of this ?

Is it a repeatable problem ? In other words can you do it again or did it happen just once ?

yes its repeating . ive been thinking it could be linkage related. if the linkage is a little seized and pulls travel clutch with it when releasing pto han clutch. will be checking this tomorrow
.
