hi
on my 6718 i have 1 remote connection on the back behind the seat its a screw in type. this is connected via a black hose to a point on top of the gearbox (right next to the little dipstick) by your right ankle
this appears to be under pressure at all times even when the tractor isnt running
the logsplitter has 2 pipes (1 screw type and 1 quickfit)
how can i connect this up?
any help much appreciated

You will need two connections on the tractor which are normally of the quickfit type - one to supply oil and one for return which feed a spool valve. The spool valve will send the ram in and out to split the log.

I have a .PDF schematic for a loader that I can e-mail you if you e-mail me at tompreaney@gmail.com that will give you the general idea.

ok i have 2 pipes on the splitter 1 quickfit 1screwtype
1 connection on tractor that comes from a point just by the little dipstick ontop of the gearbox (this seams to be always pessurised)
where does the return need to go?

ok ive removed the seat and cleaned the inches of black oily muck and hve found what appears to be the hydraulic pump
the flow goes to the back of the tractor (below the back window)
the return goes into the top of the gearbox (next to the little dipstick)
and the lever with the min>max scale seams broken(the large top lever just flops about and the small square lever underneath seams loose too

HELP !

I've e-mailed the .PDF of the hydraulic circuit diagram to Mike Hunt. I don't have your e-mail address Brian so I can't send it to you.

What you have is a hydraulic supply and return on the tractor. Now you need to be able to control this in two directions to split logs. To do this you need a spool valve. A single 4 port spool valve is what you need.

Connect the hydraulic supply and return to the spool valve and then the IN and OUT on the spool valve to the log splitter cylinder and you are in business.
