Because the starter of my Zetor 5911 and my Zetor 6711 (both!) do not work any more - I wanted to repair these. THe switches work but the rotor does not rotate :(
I think the carbon brushes are not clean any more because both zetor were not started a longer time now.
So I took of the rotor and other parts for clean them.

The Zetor 5911 has a starter of Bosch.
The starter of the Zetor 6711 is the original Zetor ones.

Now I am not able to put the rotor back into the brushes any more - the spring puts out the carbon brush.

How can I put back the rotor?

Hmmm... werent the carbon brushes held behind those big cross slotted screw heads ?
I never opened a starter motor myself, only took them off and brought them to an overhaul shop, but that's what i assume...

ive done it but its fiddly.:sneaky: i tend to hold the brushes in with small cable ties, and then reffit it back on and cut and remove the cale ties.

try it its worked for me;)

Either do as Mathew suggests, I've never tried it ! OR pull the brushes out part way and put the springs on the side of the brushes. Then re assemble the armature in to the body and when you are putting on the end plate let the brushes go part way down the commutator and then push the brushes in with a very small screwdriver and lift the springs to where they should be. you have enough of a gap to do this reasonably easily.
Have you checked that the solenoids are working?
