First of all, I'm very glad to know that this forum exists. I'm about to purchase a 1997 5340 (4300 hours), but I'm having trouble finding specific details about this model (for example, www.tractordata.com does not list this model). I also noticed in an earlier post that the 5340 is rated for 55 hp at PTO, but the dealer told me 70 hp. It seems that there is lots of information on the 43 and 63 series but very little on the 53. So can anyone tell me why the 53 model was discontinued and anything about its reliability. Is there anything I should be aware of or look for when buying this tractor?
