The lift arms goes up very slowly after starting the tractor 4340. 15 sec even in the fast lift posision. The response valve stands on quick. Exteral hydraulic works normal. After the tractor has been running for a while the lift speed increase close to normal. Oil level is ok and the filter is cleaned. Any idea where to start looking.

If would sound like your oil is too thick when it's cold making the lift slow and then as the oil warms up it's gets thinner and more watery. If someone used like of 90w, unless there is a little bit of dirt blocking the hole in the lift cylinder when it's cold.

Usually the problem is the other way around where the lift is slow going down until they warm up, especially if there is 2 auxiliary rams.

I use universal oil 10-30. I have a 650 kg snow plow on the arms so it hard to say if they lowering slow. I will take the plow off and see what happens. When you mention the cold oil I think you right as if I remember right it is a bit better in the summer. Any thoughts about oil recomendation for the wintertime down to say minus 15 C. The oil pump is in the front of the tractor and suck the oil via a pipe from the back of the tractor, an odd design but it works.
