Hi everyone! I'm having difficulty starting my 8540 of late. I guess the cold weather here isn't helping matters. I have to whip the starter motor over a long time before she fires up. Once going it goes really well. I'm wondering it it is glow plugs or perhaps air in the fuel lines. Can you Vulcain, Renze or anyone else tell me how I can test the Glow Plugs for proper operation and perhaps point me in the right direction to fix this problem. Regards to everyone Mike from Ballarat Vic

hi mike am sure you can do a omhs check on each heater plug if there the same reading there ok . you can also check each heater plug by using a wire from live on battery and tip it of were the live of heater plug dont hold it on just brush it of your blow the plug if you hold it on it . if it sparks as you brush it of plug it means its not burnt out it should be ok. you need al the wires of the heater plugs to chech as above

sb Thank you very much for the reply and the advice. I will check the tractor out this way at my first opportunity. Will post here the results regards Mike
