So I'm looking at buying a 12045,it's being sold as is for a good price for what it is and hours etc only catch is it hasn't been started in 2 years and is buyers responsibility to start it, I'm pretty confident it will start with 2 news batteries and fresh fuel, is there anything else I should be worried about if I go ahead and buy it?
change the engine oil too before using it. if its been sitting for two years it may be water in it by condensation. and if no one knows when it was last changed who knows the state of it
Change the oil in the injection pump. Take out the air filter element to make sure there aren't wasps nests etc in it. Your batteries have to have a reading of over 12v. I've found if one is under it won't work the unit that gives the 24v for starting. You only get a clunk from it. They have a safety switch so you start with clutch in. If it's been stored outside be careful of water in things like the fuel. Mine had been drum fuelled and there was muck in the tank that was restricting the fuel flow. Is it the one on Gumtree?
