starting

I have a 5245 and I have problems with starting sometimes it just starts no problem but it will not start most of the time seems like everything comes on with the key but when you push the button nothing, does anyone have an idea as to what this could be. I have checked the fuses ok. Can jump start with screw driver just seems to be no connection with button. You can hear button engage not a problem. Just does not start starter.

If it clicks when you push the button and the dash lights remain on then its probably the solenoid on top of the starter thats faulty.
If the dash lights go out then check battery terminals

If it was batery terminals I don't think it would start on crossing the solinoid. sounds like the solinoid needs serviced or replaced.

Have you tried the safety start switch on the clutch pedal ?
