stump grinder

Ive seen a stump grinder about 6 foot wide , with a cylindrical 2 foot dia centre with small cutters about 12" apart, for clearing small tree roots such as xmas tree roots , im clearing about an acre of these roots soon , anyone know any thing about these machines? I will be using a 360 digger , but am considering trying a mole plough

Kieron,
The stump grinder will make a good job, but you need to consider if it will be cost effective. It will take a long time to clear an acre if there are lots of stumps.You may be better to grub the stumps with your 360 and pile them up to burn later.
