Machinery:
Zetor 2011, Zetor 3045, Zetor 5011, Zetor 7340 Economic
Many older Zetor models are equipped with a so-called countershaft brake or transmission brake to make it easier to engage gears from a standstill and also change gears.

Where can I find the transmission brake on my Zetor?
  • mechanical clutch

    In the gear box:

Seen from the outside left, between the battery box and the rear wheel, on the gear box:

  • hydraulic clutch
From the outside on the left, but identical to the mechanical clutch on the inside:

Internal structure, errors, malfunctions, wear - how to recognize?
  • Inner structure - the individual parts of the internal components.

During assembly you have to make sure that the coarse teeth are seated correctly and are not installed twisted! When installed, the brake stone must be installed with its friction surface facing the permanent mesh gear in the direction of travel.

  • Wear on the brake stone - the wear can usually only be clearly seen after the brake stone has been removed; when installed, it is unfortunately too hidden to assess the wear well.

Left = new part, right = significant wear

  • Incorrect lever position due to twisted assembly on the coarse teeth:

Improper conversion of the clutch lever, installed on the left and rotated by 180°, the lever of the transmission brake at the bottom right of the picture - the lever should be upwards, backwards! Here using the example of the mechanical clutch, but the same applies to the hydraulic clutch.

How do I correctly adjust the transmission brake?

mechanical clutch:

1. Adjust double clutch - can be omitted if already done.
2. An assistant must fully depress and hold the clutch pedal to the stop.
3. Now adjust the rubber buffer as described in the picture.

Complete.

hydraulic clutch:
  1. later ... :)

If this is not possible, the brake stone in the gearbox or the gearbox brake hollow shaft may be worn. However, to check this, the gearbox cover must be opened.
