Hi there, I am currently looking at a new ( well second hand ) tractor, and the two tractors I have singled out are both Zetors ( well, painted and labled as Deeres )
One is the 2800, JD rating as 100 Hp, I believe that its a Zetor 9540. The other is a 2700, which is apparently identical other than the lack of a turbo, and is rated at 90Hp. Both are cab, loader 4WD tractors with 3000 hours on the clock.
What is there to be known about these tractors? Any problems? And particularly strong points? What should I look for?
Thanks !!
I dont know much bad about them... though this engine is a drinker, without turbo, and very lean WITH turbo. (280 g/kwh for the 8540 and 238 g/kwh for the 9540)
90 hp with no turbo sounds a bit much for the 4.156 liter engine. Though Deere might rate them differently, measuring to a different standard.
Ah.. It quite possibly is the UR3 series.. Not knowing a lot about Zetors ( despite owning a green 6245 ) I didnt know if it was just the larger version of what I already have, or a newer range.
Its got a 4+R trans with splitter and hi lo... I have heard that some had a 3 stage powershift... Wish that the ones here in NZ had that as I really do like the power quads in the deeres, for mowing on rolling country their great.
Its good to hear that there is not much bad about them, our locak service agent for Zetors could not tell me much bad about them either, I guess I can trust him ( even though he is trying to sell me a new Valtra A900 ) They do at least know Zetors, and finding someone to service them properly is not easy here in NZ!.
My other options tractor wise are a new Same Silver 90 non cab at $52.5K or a new JD 6220 non cab at $63.3K ( NZ dollar of course! )
Both the 2700 and the 2800 are in the low $20K range.
I guess is that the Zetors are going to be as tough as the Deere will be, at around 1/3 the cost ( but no wet clutch, no power quad...... ) I dont need all the flash electronics. The Same? well, no one on here likes them! They have a good name here in NZ and I am not doing heavy work, mostly silage / hay making, plus feeding it back out. Maybe a little ground work but not a lot.

We should start to import old zetors to europe! And Deeres and.....
But where we get the cabs?
Anyway, price is totally different in here.
Finland is need for nice bigger tractors and too much smaller tractors. I think there in UK it is opposite situation: Too much big tractor but not enought smaller Am i in right?
For everybody!
What is typical price in your country for 91 year 7745, driven 2500 to 3000 hours and very good-looking 100% condition?
These are plenty in here.... ???
And what is price for 6920 JD driven about 2000 to 3000 hours?
Here in NZ the average tractor a farmer would be buying now is an 75 - 100Hp tractor for dairy or beef farming, arable - well, how ever large is needed. Mostly 120 - 200Hp. The market for sub 75hp tractors is really only as second tractors.
My opinion is that the UR3 -series is best zetor ever made. We have that kind of 10540 (like 9540 but with intercooler and bigger gasoline tank). Our 10540 has served us ten years without major problems. So I truly belive that if you buy one you will make a good deal.
Hmmm. it seems the price of bigger tractors are getting more near the other european level. I think it is the business mens who are getting tractors to finland and they are many nowdays!
Well I took the 2700 for a drive today... It is turbo'd ( my mistake earlier ) and its in very good condition. Unfortunatly it blows a LOT of black smoke, and is very underpowered.
Anyone have any idea what could cause this? It started fine, sounded fine. I was wondering if the turbo has worn out? 3100 hours on the clock.
