My 5211 calls for 80w 90, when I sent my wife to buy some she came back with Universal Trans/hydraulic Oil.

Is it safe to use UTF in this tractor or do I need to stick with the 80w 90?

What advantage does the UTF give me? I live in Texas so its warm most of the year, really hot in the summer and winters are normally above 20 F.

Please advise.

Thanks

UTF is fine, it is actually better as it is not just a gear oil but also a hydraulic oil. 10w/30 or 15w/40 or anything in between, is about comparable to 80w/90 because the viscosity for engine and UTF oils are measured at different temperatures than gear oils.
