Hey guys,

Does anyone know the factory prescribed valve clearance for the 5201 engine ? Under normal conditions, valves never need adjustment once "broken in" but i think i need to check mine, because the engine deosn't run nice, when cold...

And if you do, what's the clearance for the 6701 and 2001 engine, of 6718 and 2011 tractors ?

5201 clearance is for both valves (inlet and outlet) 0,25 (cold). It is the same as in 6201 and 7201 engines has.

Older engines dont have idea, because someone has stolen :( my book i got from factory years ago. There was all older ones specifications ???

Thank you Markku !!!

0.25 mm is very little !!
The Hatz and Deutz air cooled engines have valve clearances of 0.15 or 0.1 mm, because they have aluminium cylinder heads i suppose...

Most water or oil cooled heads have clearance of 0.5 or 0.6 mm... Zetor cylinder heads must be designed to get quite hot i suppose...

The early UR1 engines valve clearances are Inlet 0.2mm Exhaust 0.3mm with the engine cold. From the '0' series the valve clearances are 0.25mm for both Inlet & Exhaust also on a cold engine.

Alan, could you tell us about what models this is ?? it might be an idea to gather this information and put it on a printable service chart, for people to download (valve clearance, oil fill, service intervals, cross reference for filters) for people to print out on one single A4 paper sheet, to keep in their shop ???

is the mentioned clearnaces for 2011 and 6718 ??
