My recently purchased Zetor 8045 has been outside in the rain , which has lasted 40 days and 40 nights , at least . I didn't know that a part of the fuel cap was broken off .
The tractor stalled coming into the gate from the paddock where I had been slashing when the rain first started . I couldn't get it to start .
The rain has been relentless since March . Yesterday the sun came out ! I had thought the tractor stopped because it ran out of fuel so i put a jerry can of diesel in and primed it . I tried to get it to start but it would fire .
I noticed the fuel bowl was milky white and then I realized there is water in my tank .
Can anyone help me with idea of how I can flush the system please . Obviously I'll need a new cap too .

The fuel bowl screws off at the bottom of the bowl. Empty it and refit Just turn off the tap first. Then turn on and refill. Open off the filters and empty out the diesel, I would put new ones in. Open the filters, empty them out, After you have new filters and new diesel in the system, bleed it up to the top of the filters and then open the screw in the injector pump and use the hand primer to pump the new diesel through the pump. I wouldn't worry to much the last bit. If you have a good battery, just turn over. Might have to pump or bleed the system a few times to get it started.

Would it be any good to crank methylated spirits
You could run some kerosene through, its great for cleaning out soot. But dot leave it in it. You need to drain your tank of all the old diesel and do it again if you run on kerosene.
