Hi all, I need to put in some more oil for my hydraulics (only used for emptying muck trailers), I've always just used hydraulic oil but someone has suggested backend oil/fluid instead. On googling this looks like its more suitable for breaks/gears than hydraulics - any advise on what will work best? TIA

Hello and welcome Ellie.
First of all, please introduce yourself and your tractor in words and pictures BEFORE you jump in with the first question. Thank you for that.

Secondly, to your question. Is there no standard transmission oil in UK that meets the tractor manufacturer's specifications (i.e., according to the information in your manual)? If you don't have one, you can download it for free from Zetor, along with information on the types of oil to use.

A hydraulic system will work for a while even if you pour water into it - is that a good idea? No, of course not.

So please:
- Get the manual
- Read the manual for gear box oil (it's 100% there a table with common oils)

- Order the appropriate oil
