I have a Zetor 8441 with a Zetor 102SLX loader. The joystick has gotten so stiff that I can hardly operate it. I unhooked the cables and made sure nothing was in a bind, and found that the plunger that operates the hydraulics is sticking. I worked it loose, oiled it good, reassembled it and pronounced it fixed. Everything seemed to work fine but the more I worked the loader throughout the day, the more the plunger began sticking again. Now, it it right back where it was. I am going to have to take it apart again and work the plunger loose just to get it to work. What gives? I am wondering if the oil I used (regular 30 wt) was too thick? Is there anything I can lube it with that will resolve all of this once and for all? OR, do I have another problem altogether? Thanks.

Hi keith

I ssume you're talking about the spool plunger in the main control block. This is an unusual fault and I just wonder if your transmission oil is getting very hot causing the spool to nip. If it is getting hot, look for a sticky brake. The correct oil is a Universal 10W30. If the spool block is at fault you're going to struggle to free it. I think you'll need to use a reamer to clean the slide hole so that you keep it parallel right through.

Mike.
