I have the above tractor but it has developed a problem I don't understand. Somehow the the transmission fluid is getting into the engine oil and raising the level way above the full mark.

Does anyone know what might be wrong?

I can't see how transmission oil could get into the engine if everything is standard mechanically. All pumps are after the clutch housing.
Are you sure its not diesel ?
Main thing to look for is a faulty injector, lift pump or internal injector pump fault is unlikely provided the small drain pipe from the injector pump is clear. Only other option is someone over filled it !

as dave said . i cant see how the back end oil can get into engine.

Power steering oil perhaps ?

No, Power steering pump is in the clutch compartment driven from the gearbox end, no PS oil anywhere near engine oil.

Too long ago since ive been near one... Our 385A went in 1999
