hello. we recently got a zetor 3340 tractor. the clutch would not engage so my better half decided to replace the clutch. well he is trying to figure the clutch fingers out. how can i find out what size fingers came on it originally? and the book says that if you use larger finges than the original they have to be filed down...WHAT PART?

Hi Heather,

please make some good photos from the old clutch with old fingers.
First question is - have you a LUK clutch or the original CZ made one from Zetor ?

Some days ahead I have made a little overview about clutch fingers for UR1 Zetors to bring a little bit more light in it:
(its our German sister site, I add it for now also here as a PDF, so you dont have to register on the site for viewing it :) )

I also add some hints to setup the original CZ clutch for a Zetor UR1 with hydraulic clutch:

And for easy work, also the little helper tool for easier clutch setup (CZ original clutch, UR1 Zetor 5011 to 7340 Turbo):

Maybe this can help .
And sorry, its in German my nativ language but easy to translate I think.

thank you so much! he wasnt measuring off the flywheel. the diagram in the book is a little confusing regarding where they were measuring from. the other problem is this, we don't know if its the original clutch or not. he bought it from a guy who just said he got another tractor. he said that he just had the clutch replaced a couple of months earlier. well we didn't get five minutes on this tractor before the clutch wouldn't engage and was grinding everytime he tried to put it in gear. i think he got the wrong clutch put on and didn't want to keep fooling with it. when he split the tractor there was some rusted washer that was just loose inside there. he tried to modify the fingers to make them work so now we have to order more. but now he knows what the problem was. thank you so much.

As I said - I think I can tell you more if you take photos of the clutch and upload them here.

I don't think I have ever seen a 3340 in real life. Those tiny 4wd's wouldn't been popular in Ireland. I saw a 4340 and a 5340 OK. Tractors that small used to only be imported as 2wd

Different countries, different customs and traditions. ;)

The 3-cylinder models were probably the best-selling models at Zetor at the time.
The 3340 was often used in part-time farms, in stables or by horse owners. Small, maneuverable, very economical in consumption and sufficiently powerful for mowing, turning, raking and small baling. And very affordable.
