I have a Zetor 5211 and whenever I want to use it it wont start because the battery is dead. We went all through the wiring and traced wires and replaced bad wires and put a battery cut off switch to ensure the battery wouldn't bleed. After that we put a new battery and it worked fine for a month or two but now every time I need to feed I have to jump it off. The problem is that it takes probably 30 mins to jump it because the battery is so big, and once I get it started and let it run I can't stop it because once I kill it I can't start it again without jumping it. I'm temped to sell it but when it starts it works great (besides not having brakes; If y'all have any tips on brake repair that would help ) If y'all have any idea why or how it's doing this please help. Thanks!

Sure it must be your alternator that's wrong. If you put in a new battery it would start the tractor for a good time, but as long until as it would take to go flat.

If the alternator is not working is not charging up the battery, especially if your are turning off the dead switch after use. Or else the fan belt is loose and are slipping on the pulley.

The battery is not getting any charge from alternator if its so dead as to take 30 minutes to jump, your new battery won`t last long if your letting it get that flat.
