Hello,
I recently acquired a Zetor 5245 and there are some issues that i'm hoping i can get some help with. The first problem is, when put into a forward gear and the clutch is released it won't move and stalls the motor but it will move in reverse. The second issue is, while idling with the rear attachment raised up about every 30 seconds it drops about 6-8 inches and raises back up. The third is, how do i find out what year this thing is. And last but not least, i'm in California, Is there any known parts distributors. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Does it move in reverse with no gear selected ?

sounds like reverse is permenantly engaged, selecting a forward gear aswell locks the gearbox solid,
we had it happen intermittently on a 6711, no cab floor, so could whip gear lever out shove selectors back in line and it would work fine till the next time. turned out the selector rails are held in position by a spring loaded detent ball, the bolt that held the spring in on one had come loose , slackening the spring and allowing the selector rod to move around selecting a gear whenever it felt like it.
yours sounds a bit more hassle, but top off the box and check the selectors first , then delve deeper.
