Could somebody give me some general information and specs of a 5511 please I am thinking of buying one!!
Also if I knew what to look for when buying and the availability of parts for said model

No typical problems with these. except for mudguards, every part is still available.

Thanks for reply man!! Check out the 5511 on done deal and tell me what u think!! The shape of them I just love!!
I would love to know or see a brochure in pdf for these tractors as it would point out the features that these tractors have!! Is there anything that could be sent by email maybe???

Check the history section of this page. The 5511 was a modernised 4011 with optional power steering, 540/1000rpm PTO, therefor a longer gearbox (and wheelbase) heavier front axle and all the such.

The only thing they did wrong on this engine is putting in a different cam timing. It was their first 2200rpm engine (4011 ran 2000) so they installed a cam with different valve overlap which caused slightly less torque down below, but no noticable difference at 2200rpm. My 5718 also has this 5501 engine, and all other Zetor UR1 engines up to the 7340 had the same cam timing as the 4011. With the other cam like my 3011 it would keep torque down to 500rpm like a giant marine engine, the 5501 engine gives up below 1000rpm... But hey, what are we talking about, the 11441 was dead in the water under 1500rpm :p

hi mirage where about do you live lad ????

i have a fully restored 5511 and also a part restored 5611 ( same tractor except for the cab ) and also a load of 5511 parts and manuals etc , i live in sligo ireland and i would gladly show you them if you were willing to travel , pm me for more details and a few pictures . glad to be of some help .

Thanks for the reply lads!! In in Co cavan man and thanks for the offer!! I don't drive at the minute but would be interested in seeing your collection! I notice that zetor seems to have some sort of weight transfer system in their zetormatic hydraulics!! Did this work like David browns system or is it unique to zetor?? Maybe some of you have used it!! Any info appreciated!!

The Zetormatic is useless for a three furrow plough which a 5511 pulls. My 3011 with the one furrow (dont have any bigger, would want a 2x 16" though) the top link sensing works wonderful, but it has no use for anything with more than 2 furrows.

Is it possible to put a larger engine into a 5511? Perhaps some of the later turbo models and what would the maximum power I could achieve? And how strong are zetor transmissions and back end for standing up to extra hp? This is a great forum by the way,so much info and discussions!!!

Why would you want a bigger engine in it? you better buy the rest of the tractor with it and use that.

The 5511 has a 3.1 liter engine and the 6718 uses the same rear end, as in shaft and gear size. 6718 is a 3.5 liter. I'm not sure about the 6911 and 7011 rear ends, but those engines had a bigger inlet valve and an extra coolant passage in the head for slightly more hp.

The 7245 and 7745 onwards had a different gearbox layshaft speed to reduce the stress on gears 1-4 to handle the increased power, which also closed the gap between 4th and 5th making them desirable for heavy transport.

i bought my crystal at an auction, next to it was a 6711 with a perkins 6 cylinder engine , apparently it was a farmer fitted ex combine harvester engine probably about 100 horse power. just used to drive the forage harvester. this was sometime in the mid eighties. i think it went for about 600 pounds whilst the crystal cost me a thousand.

You better find a busted up engine from anything but a 5511 or a 5711/18 and use that camshaft in your 5511. These were lazy engines, because the valve timing was bad: the exhaust valve of cylinder 3 would open when the valve of cylinder one wasnt shut yet, so the pressure peak from the opening of exhaust valve nr.3 disallowed cylinder 1 to fully exhale. The timing of every other camshaft before and after the 5501 engine is the same, the 4011 engine had the same cam timing as the 6340... When we bought a 4712 next to our 5718 about 20 years ago, we found that the 4712 would do the same with less fuel and about the same smoke.
