Zetor 5748 - Brakes.

Having recently become the owner of my first ever Tractor - an old but working Zetor 5748 I am in the process of giving it a make-over including the mechanics and bodywork.

Two of the brake pipes have rusted and are shooting out fluid. I can replace these as we have lots of experience with other vehicles mainly Land Rovers. However, can somebody please advise me where I can find the bleed nipples for the braking system.

on the brake cylinders, accessible on top of the rear axle trumpets. Use a 9mm pipe socket.

Thankyou very much for your help.

Lets hope the connectors/bleed nipples dont break when I try to remove them.

n.b. Having mainy worked on LandRovers before I am most impressed by the thickness of the steel used on the Zetor - no wonder it weighs 3 tons.

If you want to use the same brake pipe as in the landrover, you will have to drill out the fittings to 3/16 if i remember correctly. we have done it on our Crystals and the 7245. and used copper/nickel/ferrous non corroding pipe.
