Hello.I`m new to this forum.I have a problem with this tractor. It`s a Zetor 6718.I`ve read somewere that this tractor uses 24 volt for starting up and 12 volt for the rest of time.Is that true?It has space for two batteries under the cab but I tried to start with only one (no connection wire for the second) and is not working.I`m looking for any informations on this tractor as I don`t know anyting about them.If someone has any user manuals or maintenance manuals I would greatly appreciate any help .I managed to tow start but I can not select any other gear (clutch problem???)Please help me.

on a 6748 my friend has 2 x 12v batteries connected in parrallel and he gets a quicker turn over of engine which does help in winter extra cranking capacity. still 12v supply.

Normally these dont have 24 V starting.
It was quite common on the 6 cylinder Crystals though, and option on the 4 cylinder crystals. Never heard of it on a UR1 though, and i doubt if it's necessary.

Are you sure they are 12volt batteries??? sometimes people fit two 6 volt batteries together in a circuit in place of single 12volt;) because big 12 volt was expensive??? or maybey to big??? dont know why they do it:sneaky: but it would explain all this:)

Thanks for your help and advice. If it needs 2x12V batteries what sort of amp will need to start properly. It seems that they need a lot of cranking with only one battery and sometime the battery would go flat before it fires up.

They fire right up within 1 crank revolution, unless you dont use the cold start button, or have toasted valves and/or piston rings.
