Hello folks

I hope someone on here may assist.

I assist in the ongoing maintenance of an old battered but hearty Zetor 6945.

My reason for posting is that the left hand PTO lever on the floor of the cab on top of the gearbox has sheared from its shaft.

I can see that by removing the top bolt to the inner right of the lever that the shaft can be withdrawn to the left which would suggest that the inner part has snapped internally and my still be in place.?

I do not yet have access to the owners workshop manual as the owner has misplaced this at present.

Can anyone confirm this is the case and if so could it be replaced.

Or is necessary to remove the hole of the top cover to access this part.

Many thanks for any useful replies ????

;);)

You will have to remove the top cover to replace the shaft as it is fitted from inside. Do not move the tractor untill you have removed the top cover & retrieved the broken lever from the end of the shaft, if it drops down into the gearbox it can do damage!

Before you take the gearbox cover off, when you move the lever sideways, are you sure the shaft is moving sideways with the lever, or is the lever moving over the shaft ?

Its quite common for the C spring pins that hold the lever on the shaft to break at old age.

Hi there many thanks for the replies the actual spline can be removed from the housing so it has definitely sheared off. I have managed to source a new one from my local Zetor supplier for 16.00 plus the vat. I also have located the workshop manual so fingers crossed it will be up and running by the weekend....lets hope nothing has fallen into the gearbox?
