hi there
the motor is reving great but it hardy wants to move ,i drive it about 100 yards in low gears and even down to first gear and still have to wait ages for power to kick in.had similar problem before and it was hydrolics under cab had come lose but cant see no leaks any where.
any ideas any 1.???

must be a fuel problem. hydraulic failures dont cause such power consumption.

definatly not fuel as engine revs sweet as a nut just feels like the elastic band which gives you the torque isn t there and it bearly goes any where.

When releasing the clutch in a higher gear, will the engine stall, or will the tractor just not move ?
First is fuel related, 2nd is a worn clutch.

been thinkin that my self, i ve ordered a workshop manual as i aint got clue on tractors ,then might know where to start, no dont stall, and it revs happly, just higher gear it takes longer to pull off and any slight incline and u got to drop it into first in low box.how do i check a clutch?? and where abouts is it??

Hi,

Do you have free play on the pedal ? In other words there should be some pedal travel (about 25mm) before you get any pressure on it. There is an adjusting rod on the linkage for this.
If this is okay you can see the clutch through the inspection cover on the l/h side under the front of the cab. On the clutch there are 6 levers, 3 have long bolts, they are the ones for the main drive clutch. If there is under 2mm between the lever and the rear face of the clutch it is most likely worn up.

My zetor is doing the same thing
Did you find the problem

I haven't read this post before, but if a tractor is running fine but you can't move. First thing comes to mind is clutch, unless something broken in the gearbox. If the clutch disc is worn out, your tractor will slip and come to a halt. Easiest way to know is does it grind trying to get a gear? How far have to let out the pedal before it start to pull away.

Some of the tractors with the gearstick between your legs, gave troubles with selector not engaging the gear, but this wuldn't effect the clutch

But you have a tractor with mechanical clutch and not with hydraulical moved clutch. Zetor 7245 is not the same as a Zetor 7045 at this point.
