helo,
Im thinking of mounting a turbo on my Zetor 7745 and i have original pistons will the melt if a put on the turbo cuz some people are saying the the Turbo models have stronger pistons?
Does anyone have any pictures how is it mounted and what i need for mounting a turbo?
sorry my english is best!
Thenk you for your help
pistons will not melt. The turbo pistons give it a slightly lower compression ratio, and perhaps have an extra piston ring. (dont have the parts manual nearby, cant check it for you)
Further modifications to the turbo is gel type headgaskets, and hardened valve seats.
These engines, with proper maintenance, can run 10 to 15.000 hrs without a rebuild. By adding a turbo without the other modifications, you might reduce the lifespan to 6 to 10.000hrs.
I would slap the turbo on, then if you use it hard and it needs a rebuild or blows a head gasket, replace with turbo parts later on.
I thought 7745 was already a turbo engine. We had one back in the early 90s bought because it was a step up from the 7245, the 7745 had a turbo and a tighter steering
Thank you for your response... I will put on the turbo and i am thinking of opening up the fuel pump a little bit. Do you know if anybody sale turbo kits for zetor on anythink like that?
No, i checked my memory and 7745 and 7745 were both introduced in 1989. The gearbox was adapted for the higher power by changeing the layshaft gear combination, so that all other gearwheels would spin a bit faster, thereby transferring more power with the same teeth pressure.
7745 gearbox therefor has less of a gap between 4 and 5th which makes it more useful in transport. Our 5245 had a lot of reduction on the layshaft, so when pulling a heavy load to 2600rpm in 4th, it would fall back to 1300rpm in 5th when you shifted up. Thats the only thing i hated about the 5245 as we frequently hired a 10 tonne tanker or trailer at the contractor, to haul muck to the headland between christmas and new years day, so i wouldnt have to make 40 trips with my 3 ton spreader in spring.
We must have bought the last of the 7745 T so, it was a nice tractor ok a bit better than a 7245. had a 30k box and there was some changes made to the breaks and a tighter steering circle, we used it to pull a silage trailer for 1 season but was no match for a Crystal

My brother have 7745 with year production 1987 imported to Poland from Danmark. In book "Historie traktorů Zetor Marin uman-Hreblay" is written that 6-modermization: 7745 and were produced from 1986. Version with turbo 7745T from 1989.
Renze where have you from infos about power? On prospect are another data.
