hi i asked the same question a few years . you can change the gears between the box and diff from a tractor that ran on r34 . renze would be best to talk to about it
Well i dont know WHAT pair of gears they would swap... but a local guy bought a 140hp Ursus (same as a Crystal) that runs 55kmh, a phenomenal speed. It still runs ahead of todays Fendt Varios....
The 80hp on 16.9-34 was sold as 40kmh, and the 160hp on 20.8R38 was sold as 40kmh.The importer used a pair of gears out of a 80hp which originally sold with 16.9-34 tires, and put them in this 6cyl with 20.8R38 tires. A 40kmh box with the small gears and the big tires would run 55kmh, so a 30km box with the small gears would also run close to 40...
hi thats good to know so are u saying i need a 30k box which ran on 16.9r34, could i just put the complete box in instead of changing the gears if not, which gears do i change and where do they go, how would i find out? thanks
let me no how it goes darren am interested . if you could get a old crystal on r34 and stick on a set of r38 your no what speed you would gain . maybe borrow crystal to try it out . maybe sum one thats good with there 3.14 could work it out
The 20.8R38 are 16% bigger than the 16.9R34 so 30kmh would become 35.03kmh... Not that much at all. going from 2200 to 2500rpm on top of that, would give 39.8kmh...
So i think they converted the 40kmh box to 53kmh at 2500rpm with this set of gears, and the extra revs..... Or perhaps they do some other tricks like flipping the gear combos over, to accelerate instead of to reduce speed... I dont know the fine details, but our local dealer did it, and the Dutch Ursus importer did it...
great news can you get a zetor 40km that runs on 16.9r34 ive only ever seen them on r38. and also would the 4wd pack not bust at 53km we used to have a 10145 with a perkins engine in it that done 50km and it busted open the 4wd housing id be afraid to do it on the 16245 we also had a 10111 with a 150hp perkins engine 40km box and she done 80km on the road was a very hard yoke to handle but was rediculously fast and put a seroius amount of farmers lost for words
The tractor i am talking about has done 6500hrs at over 55kmh.
The 16245 at a potato and onions trader, pulling truck trailers on a 5th wheel dolly, were converted by the dealer or importer to 16211..
They did change the crown and pinion in this Ursus once..
The Perkins engine at 80kmh, i assume a truck engine with 3000rpm, opened up a bit more ?
