Ok a zetor 12441 intercooler won't fit under the bonnet of a 16245 so it will have to be a custom made one. Will this be worth my while doin cause the torque on a 12441 when pulling is great and I think it's down to the cold air been forced into the engine, any help would be great thanks..also zetor 18345 had an intercooler and the torque is up at something like 735nm compared to 16245 was 522nm.
The 18345 and 12441 had a corrector on the fuel pump that topped off the fuel at high rpm to get more low end torque, and the 12441 had a waste gated turbo which the 16245 has not.
The low end torque comes mostly from the waste gated turbo as the 11441 with fixed turbo, also was gutless at low rpm.
An intercooler will do SOME good because it can push the same amount of air in at a lower temperature, so more air mass at the same pressure. But if its only low end torque you want, its not worth the investment.
Even within the model designation HX35W there are lots of different trims and port diameters. There are at least 20 variants of the HX35W.
HX35W would indeed be the right frame size for a 6.8 liter. Preferrably get one from a 6.7 Cummins or Iveco engine, those will be best suited for the displacement.
