A Hummer is just a large jeep. This is an APC (Armoured Personnel Carrier) and weighs 12 ton where the Hummer weighs 3.5 ton. It provides protection against improvised explosives commonly found in current battle fields, i.e. roadbombs placed by Taliban IS or whatever insurgents.

I dont think Americans will ever buy European military stuff. Especially not Czech. But it gives the Zetor brand image in America a great boost, much more than the plastic Pininfarina.

Especially in America there is an emphasis on armed defense, the 2nd amendment right, and the tools to defend oneself is important in US popular culture. There is no better ego boost for an American than to own a brand that is operational in the defence industry.
