I have heard from an English dealer, that these were the test model for the 11641. Just a few of them were built, the first ones had electronical problems (no wonder, it's Italian!!) but these problems were sorted out by the dealers and manufacturer, soon after that the 11641 was introduced.
I do not know much about them, because i think only a few of them were sold, only in Ireland.

no 11540 was ever sold in ireland.only a hand ful of 11641 were sold.
