Just seen on the internet that zts tractors are still being produced look a good tractor but why are they not available in the uk. The zetor crystals were very popular here in west wales and they were built by zts we need simple tractors like the ZTS not all these complicated electronic tractors.

That's because ZTS has no marketing channels anymore.

The state owned marketing agency, Motokov, ruled all export of Tatra, Skoda, Zetor , ZTS and many more. They did o.k in the communist days but in the free market economy, Motokov was too expensive. ZTS pulled themself back from teh Motokov sales channels and are doing their own marketing in Eastern Europe. They didn't have any contacts here, and the market is too difficult, emission and safety legislations are too expensive for them, if things go like they are going now, ZTS will be bankrupt within 5 years. They solved the biggest debts for now, by selling the defence division, producing armored cars and the well-known T72 combat tank. When they have eaten this money from this sales too, i suppose HTC will snatch them right before a bankrupt, so they get them cheap. I think they want the UR4 engine and rear end for their big line of tractors to 240 hp. They havent announced WHEN those big horses will come, but it's a future plan. So i think they arent waiting for ZTS, first get the Forterra six pots and the new low power range out.

one place on the net I saw someone had 11 each 1999 zts with very few hours. I think they were stored in contains. Are the zetor 16xxx or 12xxx series zts or zetors. on the high hp zetor of future, what will the running gear be?

In 1981, the communist Central Office decided that the production of the Zetor Crystal models 8045, 10045, 12045 and 16045 would be transferred to the ZTS plant in Slovakia.
All post-1981 Crystals are ZTS. I think in 1994 or so, ZTS started selling under their own name.

The running gear for the new hig pwer range is pure speculative.

On their website last year ZTS said they had only made a few hundred tractors.I saw that Ursus are still using the Crystal running gear in a proposed new line of tractors that look good.Apparently the transmission is now pressure lubricated by a pump.
