news Maxterra details ?

Does anyone have any new rumors about the Zetor Maxterra range, which is to be produced from 2009 ?

A 24/24 gearbox with 4 powershift steps and powershuttle, and 40 speeds if fitted with optional crawl gears, doesnt that sound a lot like the ZF 7000 series transaxles ??

The ZF transaxles are efficient and durable, though many tractor producers that used them right from the start, Deutz and Steyr, had trouble with them bouncing apart due to rude powershift controls. The later ones seems to be better, but it still makes me hope that Zetor, if they use ZF trannies, would make their own controls.

ZF produces a lot of these popular transmissions, enabling to put them on the OEM market for reasonable prices. It certainly makes sense, Same-Deutz-Fahr group announced that they will focus on the 50-130 hp market because that's where the sales numbers, and the money is. But when they dont have a competing high horse power range, many contractors will hop to another brand for the high hp models, and shortly after that, they will change the smaller models for another brand as well to stick with the same filter stock, and dealer.
