    Check to make sure the 4wd engagement is indeed complete - lever position(4wd engage) is where it should be - if it is not then this will be the source of the misalignment and grinding. If this is not the issue then there are some more serious issues inside the transmission or clutch housing.

    How do you know it is working? Voltage or amp check on the line? The reason I ask is that my charge light stays on after startup at low RPM's - then after a few minutes and RPM>800 it flickers and goes out.
