  1. Best Timber ForwardingTrailer

Looking for a new trailer, I would like one with driven wheels depending on price about 10 tons. Some I have seen look as though there not made to last. The one we have now is a Botex which has been a real good machine. someone said new Botex are not as good as they were. I would appreciated...
  2. Marked Glass

Thanks for that quick reply, I dont think my boss would be to pleased if I knocked the glass out and put a piece of plastic in plase of it, the tractors only 7 months old, thats why im so bothered about the marks. Have to get the angle grinder out. Brian.
  3. Marked Glass

Hi all, Does anyone know if it is possible to remove marks from the glass when weld has run down it. Had some welding done above the windscreen, we did cover it up but some weld got behind and has made a right mess. p.s its not now the 7245 that sadley went after 17 years, its now a...
  4. Using 1000 rpm hydraulics

Hello all, It should not be a problem using 1000rpm for the pump, I use 1000rpm all the time when using our timber crane and have for years now with not one problem, it moves fast even just ticking over, unlike the slow countys pump. Popeye I would not have thought such a small pump...
  5. oh no

The right side which I use the most is replaced with rope, but the other side I've only got the step cut off and not put on any rope yet, so you can guess what happens when I'm not thinking about which side I'm getting out off. Still its not as bad as getting out of a County, you just jump...
  6. oh no

Ive bent the steps many a time working in the woods. The best way is to replace them with wire rope. Brian.
  7. cab heater fans not working.

Ive use to have the same problems with the heater fans in our 7245, untill I found they are the same as used in the old Skoda Estelle. So I replaced them with two out of a scrap car. WD40 oil helps and a good bang under the heater if they stick. Brian.
  8. Stuck in reverseA

Yes it was a worn gear selector, we got a local Zetor mechanic out to it, he had it put right in about 10 minutes. (more like 10 hours with a New Holland) He said it will most likely do it again, so he is making a kit up which stops it. It has done it today but I had no problem getting it...
  9. Stuck in reverseA

Thanks Markku, It doesn't sound as bad as I thought, now I should be able to sleep tonight, only problem now is finding a mechanic that likes walking or fell about 50 trees so I can reverse it out to the roadside. Thanks again Brian.
  10. Stuck in reverseA

Another question for you Zetor mechanics to get ours going again. I won't be doing the repairs but I would like to have some idea what is involved. Today I reversed up to a pile of timber to pick it up, I pulled the lever out of reverse but when I let the clutch out it was still in reverse...
  11. A Bleeding question

Just an update about the air getting into the fuel system and how we cured it, just in case anyone gets the same problem. The new copper washers did'nt make much difference and the new lift pump did'nt, but at least the pump does pump air out faster, next we renued the two rubber pipes as...
  12. A Bleeding question

Thanks Renze, even the spanner size was correct. Just thought I would let you know we got the copper washers today, most are not the right size but the ones I've put on have not made any difference. A mechanic has told me it must be the lift pump which isn't working properly, so he is ordering...
  13. Zetor's and tree stump removal

Tom from Ireland, A simple answer, do like we do in the woods, drive over them with your high ground clearance Zetor, or dig chop and pull. Only joking, Brian.
  14. A Bleeding question

Can anyone tell me the best way to bleed the fuel system on our 7245. We are waiting for new copper washers coming, but I dont think the old ones are letting enough air in to keep stopping it every few minutes, its just that I'm not getting all the air out when bleeding. I was told to undo no.1...
  15. new zetor

Charlie, I was going to ask the same question, we have a 19 year old 7245 which we may be changing this year. Renze said the proxima has more torqe and lower fuel consumption than the super. Does any one know if there are many other changes from the super and when will it be on sale in this...
  16. Best Zetor for forestry?

Renze, Tried to e-mail the photo's, first 3 at once and they wouldn't go, so then we tried each separatly, but still didn't go, so we will try again another night. Got the tractor back from having the king pin bearings done, it had not been an easy job,the parts had been ceased together and he...
  17. Best Zetor for forestry?

Adam L I like Zetors for forestry mainly because of the engine, they will pull so easy just on low revs, there is good ground clearance for driving in deep ruts and over stumps and rocks. The hydraulic pump is better than most for driving a crane, there is no need for a separate pto driven...
  18. Best Zetor for forestry?

Sorry Woodbeef but I agree with Renze we are better off with our Zetor than a 9000h Steyr thats been used for forestry, it could be realy rough, I think its better to buy a farm tractor and put some guarding on. Steyr's are rare in this country and I've read CNH are stopping selling them in the...
  19. Best Zetor for forestry?

Crystalman and Renze, Our tractor's gone into the local garage to see if he can do anything with the axle, I'm sure he can, he's a good mechanic (he will be looking at this web site) And I printed Crystalmans repair directions and gave him them. If we had it reconditioned the engine and...
  20. Best Zetor for forestry?

I thought I better let you all know I won't be the one who makes the final decision about the machine we buy, I am only the driver and servicer. I did talk my boss into buying the 7245 and it has been a real good buy. The worthless price of timber will mean it wont be a MB or other such machine...
