Clutch engages close to the top..someone had mentioned possibly being able to adjust this some way where it will engage sooner..Can anyone advise me on this? Thanks
 
cluth is hydraulic no adjustment. its normal that it engages near the top. dont ride With Your foot on the clutch because there is no free play like a mechanical linkage one. riding With foot resting slightly on pedal will wear it out quickly.
 
You can adjust the pushrods that fit into the master cylinder piston for some more play.

you cannot adjust the push rod on the clutch master on a 5211 ..its a fixed pin ...you can adjust them on the clutch cover through access panel on bell housing ..you need 1 open ended 17mm spanner ground down thin to release lock nuts on the adjust nuts ...

same side as clutch pedal if it has a cab they'll be a hatch 2 screws on a angle at foot of dash board remove cover and look in onto steering rods then you'll see a square plate held in place with 2 10mm bolts on the plate theres a oiler for oiling the clutch shaft when you remove it you have to turn it anti clock wise to remove plate out of way then you'll be able to see the fingers of clutch and trust bearings you can adjust them ok just make sure you adjust them equal you'll see as you adjust them that as you turn nut it'll alter gap from bearing face then just match other 2 fingers to match
 
Note. If the clutch is getting close to worn out the pedal will be very close to the top anyway.

There should be some clearance (usually 1mm is enough) between the pedal pushrod and the clutch Master Cylinder piston, if there is no clearance the fluid return valve (back to the reservoir)may not open and you could get pressure buildup in the line.

you can check this by trying to pull the clutch fork back against the slave cylinder (assuming you can access it) it should displace fluid back into the reservoir,.......
if the slave cylinder will not go back easily, try releasing the bleeder screw to let off pressure, if still not going in then the clutch is almost worn out (ie the Slave Cyl piston is at the foot of the cyl.) or the slave cyl has a build up of crud behind the piston.
 
Gary don't adjust the clutch fingers through the side plate in a attempt to get the clutch to take up earlier in the travel as the self adjust will put you back in the same place. Do as Renze suggests and shorten the clutch master cylinder pushrod a little, this will give you a lower take up on the clutch pedal.

Where is this rod located to adjust/shorten clutch master cylinder rod? Looks like a rod touches the back of the clutch petal then from there u can't even see the other end and the fluid reservoir is up high and to the right side under the hood. Where do I look? Thanks
 
Have you taken the lower dash panel off with the two spring loaded locks ? then you can see them.
 
Thanks Mike and Renze--will remove the panel and look to be sure whether adjustable or not.
